We Stand with the AAPI Community
The purpose of our work at Legal Assistance to the Elderly (LAE) is to support and protect San Francisco’s seniors. They make and have made our city all that it is, and we are brokenhearted and outraged at the violence targeting our Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) elders. Our AAPI elders are an essential pillar of San Francisco and the Bay Area.
LAE stands in solidarity with the AAPI community and calls for action in response to the increase in violent and targeted attacks on the AAPI community. These acts of violence are wrong and we invite our supporters to read this statement by Asian Organizations across the Bay, to watch this recent press conference led by the Coalition for Community Safety and Justice to learn more about how to be an ally and demand action. Follow and share Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus’s project Stand Against the Hatred and keep an eye on their events page for Bystander Intervention trainings. We hold those who have been attacked and their families in our hearts and we will keep fighting for equity and social justice.
Together our staff, partners, and people like you, we will stay vigilant and continue to help the most vulnerable in our city.
