Today it’s more important than ever to join together. Nationally, we face efforts to dismantle the very programs — housing, healthcare and income — that were created to protect older adults like Medicare, MediCal and the Older Americans Act. 

This is why LAE is so important, because in the face of so much uncertainty there is one concrete thing we can do. When a senior is facing a crisis like eviction, we can give them a lawyer — and it works. When LAE provides full-scope representation to seniors facing eviction — 92% remained housed.  

This year LAE helped over 2000 clients — saving their housing, securing their incomes and healthcare, and protecting them from physical abuse and financial exploitation. Our holistic model addresses the root cause of the legal issue, while meeting clients where they are with wrap-around social services.
