Mitzy Lopez joined the LAE team as a Social Service Advocate. She is a first-generation college graduate and received her B.A. in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Race and Resistance studies from San Francisco State University. Originally from Los Angeles, Mitzy moved to the Bay Area in 2017 to pursue involvement in grassroots organizing and community corrections through local non-profit organizations. She is passionate about connecting with our communities by channeling practices of sustainability, inclusion, accountability and healing at individual, communal and institutional level. Mitzy has previously worked as a Senior Caregiver Assistant as well as a behavior technician for people on the Autism spectrum. She hopes to continue her education in social work and likes exploring new places, foods, art, and music outside of work.
