Our Services

ELC is a collaboration between Legal Assistance to the Elderly, Asian Law Caucus, Jubilee Immigration Advocates, and Excelsior Works! to serve residents of San Francisco’s Supervisor District 11.

This program provides wide-ranging legal services in the areas of Housing, Immigration, Employment Law, and Senior Legal Services. For those who live in or near San Francisco’s District 11.

What We Help With

Thanks to a unique community collaboration led by Legal Assistance to the Elderly, residents of District 11 and adjacent neighborhoods can get free legal help directly in the neighborhood with issues on housing, employment, and immigration:

  • Has your landlord served you with an eviction notice?
  • Is your landlord failing to make repairs, entering your unit without your permission, threatening to call the authorities on you, or harassing you—all to try to get you to move out?
  • Is your employer keeping part of your wages or making you work in unsafe conditions?
  • Do you want to file an asylum claim, get a green card, or take other steps that will let you live here safely?

Excelsior Legal Collaborative (ELC) can help! Collaborating with the following organizations:

  • Legal Assistance to the Elderly
  • Asian Law Caucus
  • Jubilee Immigration Advocates
  • La Raza Centro Legal
  • PODER
  • Filipino Community Center
  • Excelsior Works!

Together, we help District 11 residents seek justice free of charge.

Client Spotlight

Community is extremely important to me, especially at my age. And I'm very grateful that LAE that was able to support me during a time of need.

Maria Antonia

Maria Antonia came to one of our housing clinics in the Excelsior because, despite her many requests, her landlord refused to make repairs, including addressing the pervasive mold that was adversely affecting her health. LAE helped her advocate for repairs through a demand letter. As soon as the letter was sent, the landlord made the needed repairs.
