Yasmin Kouchesfahani

Yasmin Kouchesfahani is a Law Fellow on LAE’s Housing Team. Yasmin graduated from UC Hastings Law School in May 2022. During law school, Yasmin served as President of the Iranian Law Students Association and External Vice President of OUTLAW (UC Hastings’ LGBTQ+ law student association). They were also a student intern in the Immigrant Rights Law Clinic and a student representative on the Dean’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group. They spent their summers clerking for the National Center for Lesbian Rights and the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies.

Prior to law school, Yasmin earned a B.A. in International Studies at the University of San Francisco. During their undergraduate career, Yasmin spent four months in Cusco, Peru studying and researching the advocacy work of Indigenous Quechua-speaking women impacted by forced sterilizations.

Yasmin is passionate about advancing legal protections for marginalized communities and using lawyering skills to dismantle and abolish oppressive systems.
