Valeria is the D11 Housing paralegal at Legal Assistance to the Elderly.
Valeria assists monthly legal clinics in the Excelsior and D11 tenants experiencing housing issues and supports our housing attorneys with eviction cases.
Valeria is a San Francisco Native and First Generation College Graduate. She graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of the Arts in Criminal Justice in 2019. After that, she focused her time serving the community through the JusticeCorp Program, where she assisted low-income minority groups with legal assistance. She also was the program coordinator for the Females Against Violence Program, where she served youth experiencing homelessness, teen pregnancy, drug abuse, and domestic violence.
During this time she became passionate about legal knowledge and the legal perspective, which is why she decided to pursue a Master’s in Legal Studies at UC College of the Law San Francisco (Formally known as UC Hastings). She graduated in Spring 2023.
In her early childhood, she witnessed family members unsure how to navigate the legal system or where to go for assistance because of language barriers and unknowing the intentions of others. This led Valeria to want to dedicate her future to help others. Valeria is passionate about assisting others with their struggles and helping them find ways resolve them. Valeria strives to be the individual she needed when she was younger.
In her spare time Valeria enjoys museums, reading books, and Disney!
