Ms. Chiera joined LAE in 2016 after working in San Francisco’s legal services community since 2005. Her work has focused on providing direct legal services to low-income and disabled individuals in San Francisco. She worked for over nine years at the San Francisco Bar Association’s Homeless Advocacy Project of the Justice and Diversity Center, where she supervised the Eviction Defense Team and assisted in some Benefits Advocacy. She also served on San Francisco’s Shelter-Plus-Care oversight committee for five years, and supervised the UC Hastings Homeless Legal Services Clinic located in San Francisco’s largest homeless shelter. She is currently an adjunct professor at UC Hastings School of Law in the Law and Health Sciences Concentration, and she is fluent in English and Spanish. At LAE, Ms. Chiera provides staff supervision, case evaluation, and direct services, as well as conducting program development, evaluation and reporting, and coordinating with other partner agencies.
