Jessica Juarez is an Eviction Defense Fellow on LAE’s Housing team. Jessica received her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in May 2020 with a Certificate in Litigation and Public Interest Law. During her first summer in law school, Jessica completed the Honors Summer Trial & Evidence Program. Jessica interned with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, the Bar Association of San Francisco, and with the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office during law school. She was awarded the 2020 Dean’s Award for Scholarship and Leadership and the 2020 Outstanding Achievement in Public Interest Law. She was also awarded the 2020 Most Significant Contribution to the Litigation Center Award as well as honored for being in the Pro Bono Honor Society for all three years of her law school career.
Prior to law school, Jessica worked for a non-profit after school program mentoring middle school students in her hometown of Rialto as an AmeriCorps Member and managed the program at a particular middle school. She also worked as a legal advocate through the JusticeCorps program in Los Angeles.
