James Faye has been with LAE for over ten years. Before he came to LAE, he spent 18 years as a housing paralegal in a private practice. He has been a volunteer at the San Francisco Tenant’s Union for over 30 years. Mr. Faye has deepened LAE’s housing practice by focusing on representing tenants at the San Francisco Rent Board who are at risk of catastrophic rent increases and improper temporary relocation petitions. He also assists low-income seniors with filing hardship exceptions before the San Francisco Rent Board. Mr. Faye also represents tenants at San Francisco Housing Authority Hearings appealing adverse decisions by the agency including denials of reasonable accommodations and terminations of Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8 subsidies).
